ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD KATE INMAN FROM ETTINGTON GIVES HER VIEW ON SATURDAY’S BIG GAME AT THE DCS STADIUM

In the last few minutes, Merthyr Town scored a goal and Stratford hadn’t got enough time to bring it to a draw.

Even though they lost, it was an action-packed match and was a pleasure to watch.

It began with bright sunlight covering the pitch so everyone had to squint.

There were lots of people coming out of the Christmas lunch too (which was for the sponsors, patrons and directors of Stratford Town FC) to enjoy the forthcoming match.

As it went on, the sun went down and everyone was on the edge of their seats as the atmosphere got more exciting and the shots at scoring were so close.

In the 92nd minute, just as everyone thought the match would end in a 0-0 draw, both teams were grouped in Town’s goal and Merthyr substitute Ryan Laville headed the ball quickly into the net before Andy Kemp (Stratford’s goalkeeper) could prevent it.

Sadly, there wasn’t enough time for Stratford to score. Consequently, the game ended at 1-0 to Merthyr Town.

However, it was a great match and it was really enjoyable, and everyone happily congratulated both Merthyr and Stratford for their amazing game-play. Stratford’s next match is against Bridgewater on Saturday. Don’t miss it!

Well done to Merthyr Town and of course Stratford Town.
