We have created a series of key priorities for the school, which we are actively developing.

Overview of priorities for 2017/2018

AREAS FOR WHOLE SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT

PRIORITY 1: WHOLE SCHOOL

Writing

  • To ensure that a greater number of pupils at the end of Reception meet the expected standard in writing
  • To ensure that a greater number of boys across the school make the expected progress and attain the expected standard or above in writing.
  •  To ensure that a greater number of pupils attain a level which shows a greater depth understanding of Age Related Expectations (ARE) across the school.
  • To ensure that a greater number of pupils are working at the expected standard in Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar across Years 3, 4 and 5, bringing the % closer to that at the end of Year 6.
PRIORITY 2: WHOLE SCHOOL

Maths 

  • To ensure that a greater number of pupils attain a level which shows a greater depth understanding of ARE across the school.
  • To ensure that a greater number of girls are working at ARE by the end of the year in Years 3, 4 and 5.
PRIORITY 3: WHOLE SCHOOL

Science

  • To ensure that the school is closing the attainment gap between Pupil Premium/Free School Meal pupils and all other children in KS2 maths.
  • To ensure that the school is closing the attainment gap between PP/FSM pupils and all other pupils in KS1 writing.
PRIORITY 4: WHOLE SCHOOL

British Values

  • To ensure that pupils have regular opportunities to understand what British values are, exploring and developing a greater understanding of: democracy, rule of law, tolerance for different faiths and cultures, individual liberty.
  • To raise pupils’ awareness of diversity and celebrate differences through a range of rich multi-cultural activities.
PRIORITY 5: WHOLE SCHOOL

Parental Engagement and Home School Communication

  • To provide more opportunities for parents to support their child’s learning, monitor their child’s progresss and involve themselves in the educational process.
6: WHOLE SCHOOL

Develop Physical Education, pupil well-being and Sports provision across the school.

  • Enable pupils to participate in a wider range of physical activities – curricular and extra-curricular.
  • To improve the school environment to encourage greater amounts of physical activity.
  • To promote the mental health & well-being of all pupils and develop strategies which make pupils more resilient and emotionally intelligent.
